MAX and 400G
The MAX Engineers have been working around the clock implementing refreshed network equipment o enable new 400G capabilities. MAX is nearing the completion of a network-wide refresh, modernizing every layer of the network to leverage newer technologies and faster speeds and is able to onboard 400G participant connections at this stage. The optical DWDM layer leverages flex grid technology which allows for more flexible optical channel widths, and higher speeds. Our new core optical network utilizes 800G optical channels, and edge optical nodes utilize 400G channels. The switched and routed layer that sits on top of the optical layer has been upgraded so that all backbone links operate at speeds up to 400G. We have upgraded our multiple Internet2 peering points to 400G are in the process of upgrading many of our participants to 400G.
Many MAX Participants have already taken advantage of the expanded bandwith. Contact our team now to explore your options!
