Carrie Groff, Interim Executive Director and Associate Director of Service Development and Community Relations

Carrie Groff joined the MAX team in May of 2022 as the Communications, Marketing and Administrative Coordinator. In that role, Groff’s core responsibilities included event planning for national and regional conferences, and communications and content creation for newsletters, press releases, and the MAX website. As Associate Director of Service Development and Community Relations, Groff has enhanced existing partnerships and cultivated new relationships with MAX’s customers and the broader community. She has represented MAX at major networking conferences, including ICANN, Internet2, SuperComputing, and others.

In addition, she worked with with the Director of Q-labs to help establish the administrative infrastructure for this new unit. Groff also served as the assistant to Tripti Sinha, MAX’s former Executive Director and AVP/Chief Technology Officer of the Division of Information Technology at UMD.

In October 2025, Carrie Groff transitioned into a new role as Interim Executive Director of Mid-Atlantic Crossroads. She will continue to represent MAX and lead the team towards technological advancements. She received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Management from Salisbury University in 1997.
